STARSTRUCK PERFORMING ARTS
Starstruck Performing Arts is a non-profit organisation whose sole purpose is to create fun theatre for young people of all ages and abilities.
We strongly believe that young people gain both experience and confidence by participating in something they enjoy and this becomes our mission.
Starstruck Performing Arts has been running for the last nine years and over that time we've created over 20 productions/showcases in which ALL of our students participate. Our ethos is to ensure that every single student gets a role within our productions.
When your child enrols with Starstruck Performing Arts, they will become an integral part of a friendly, creative and enthusiastic group.
Our classes consist of singing, dancing and acting and no medium takes priority, they are taught in equal measures.
There is no set genre of any medium that your child will learn, as Starstruck Performing Arts believe diversity is key to developing your child as a performer.
One week they may learn the techniques of ballet, the next could be stage combat or script writing, we believe this style of learning not only gives the students a wide knowledge of the different elements of performing arts, but also introduces them to many cultures of the industry and keeps learning exciting.
Although our focus is performing, and the journey to achieving that, we do also work on building confidence and forming friendships.
Where necessary we will merge our performing arts groups for collaborative work culminating in a theatre production – this has proven extremely successful in the past and something Starstruck will continue to do.
We aim to produce at least one theatre production and one showcase a year and we work closely with our local community to generate other performance experiences for our students.
At Starstruck Performing Arts we aim to engage your child in a performing arts education, giving them an insight into the creative process of putting together a piece of theatre; From creating characters and writing scenes, to participating in technical rehearsals prior to a performance at the theatre.
Perfect for anyone aspiring to be a performer, or for those who simply want to have fun and make friends along the way!

'I believe that if young people express an interest within theatre and wish to engage with it, then their enthusiasm should be encouraged and their experiences should be fun! Especially when they have chosen to take an interest in the subject area independently. I endeavour to engage and inspire young people within the performing arts industry, giving them an insight into not only performing itself, but also the devising, rehearsing and all aspects of putting a production together and all within a fun, friendly, no-pressure environment' - Shaunagh Conway.
